In February 2022, Samsung Engineering and China Chemical Engineering Seventh Construction Co., Ltd. signed a business contract for the design and procurement of the Baltic Sea ethane cracking project in Russia.

Previously, China National Chemical Engineering Seventh Construction Co., Ltd. and Russia's Baltic Chemical Complex LLC signed an EPC (design, procurement, construction) general contract for the above-mentioned project. This time, Samsung Engineering will contract the EP (design and procurement) business, with a contract value of about 1 billion euros, and it is planned to be completed in 2024.

The project is to build two ethane crackers in the Baltic Sea Chemical Complex in the Ust-Luga region, 110 kilometers southwest of St. Petersburg, Russia, with an annual output of 2.8 million tons of ethylene.Keywords: engineering construction, engineering news
