On the morning of February 28, 2022, the construction of the Libu Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge, the Guanyinsi Yangtze River Highway Bridge, and the Jiangling to Songzi section of the Wuhan-Songzi Expressway invested and constructed by Hubei Communications Investment Group started construction. It is reported that the three projects are located in Jingzhou, with a total investment of about 25.7 billion yuan.

The Libu Yangtze River Highway-Railway Bridge is a common crossing channel for the Jingzhou section of the Erguang Expressway, the Jingzhou-Jingnan Railway and urban roads. The world's first bridge of its kind. The project adopts the road-railway bridge construction scheme, which is divided into upper and lower layers. The road-railway joint construction area is about 7.91 kilometers long. The estimated total investment of the project is about 10.47 billion yuan, and the construction period is 54 months.

The Guanyinsi Yangtze River Bridge is a key control project for the Jiangling-Songzi section of the Wuhan-Songzi Expressway. It is about 31.3 kilometers from the upstream Jingzhou Yangtze River Bridge and 13.7 kilometers from the downstream Jingzhou Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge. The main bridge has a total length of 1860 meters and a main span of 1160 meters. It is a double-tower and double-cable-plane hybrid composite beam cable-stayed bridge. The bridge adopts the two-way six-lane construction standard, the bridge width is 41 meters, the bridge tower adopts A-type cable tower, and the tower height is 262 meters.

The Jiangling-Songzi section of the Wuhan-Songzi Expressway has a total length of about 55.3 kilometers. The design speed of the whole line is 120 km/h. It is connected to the Jiangbei Expressway Jianjiang Section, which has been built, passes through Jingzhou Development Zone and Gongan County, and ends at Nanhai Town, Songzi City, where it connects with the built Yueyi Expressway.
