On March 2, 2022, the Hebei Provincial Transportation Project Centralized Commencement and Labor Competition Mobilization Conference was held at the Wuyi Interchange Construction Site of the Handan-Gang Expressway. This means that the construction of the Hengshui section of the Handan-Gang Expressway has officially started.

Hengshui Section of Handan-Port Expressway

The Hengshui Section of the Handan-Gang Expressway starts from the Daguang Expressway in Hengshui City and ends at the junction of Hengshui and Cangzhou, passing through Taocheng District, Wuyi County, Fucheng County and Jingxian County, with a total length of 63 kilometers and a design speed of 120 km/h , two-way four-lane, with a total investment of about 7.42 billion yuan. There are 6 interchanges of Dengzhuang Hub, Wuyi, Wuyi East, Fucheng, Fucheng East and Liuji, 5 ramp toll stations, 2 service areas in Wuyi County and Jingxian County, Wuyi East Interchange, Fucheng Donghutong will build 2 maintenance work areas on the same site, Wuyi Hutong will build 1 communication monitoring sub-center, 7 bridges and 7 middle bridges on the same site. Up to now, all the land for the project has been approved by the State Council, the project site, laboratory and mixing station have been completed, and the temporary construction project is 90% completed. The construction of the whole line will start in March.

According to reports, the Hengshui Section of the Handan-Gang Expressway is a key project in the 14th Five-Year Plan and Construction of Hebei Province and the first transportation PPP project in Hengshui.
