The Dingzhuang Reservoir in Dezhou, Shandong has an area of 8,899 mu, and the water photovoltaic project reaches more than 7,000 mu. On December 30, 2021, the second phase of the project will achieve a full-capacity grid-connected power generation of 120,000 kilowatts. Following the design requirements of "de-industrialization", the institute integrates the local "Sunbird" totem of Texas, and the topographical characteristics of the "Lake Island" within the project site, and is equipped with an automatic cleaning system for the floating body displacement monitoring system components, and a drone patrol system. The bird repellent device in the inspection center and other advanced technologies at home and abroad are currently the largest single floating photovoltaic power station on the water surface in the world.

Pieces of photovoltaic panels are like soldiers lined up, and 8000 photovoltaic panels are densely covered in 81 squares. "Many large-scale reservoirs are water sources and are not suitable for floating photovoltaic projects. Dingzhuang Reservoir only provides cooling water for Huaneng Dezhou Power Plant, which provides prerequisites for project construction." said Wu Peisen, the project leader.

"Dingzhuang Reservoir water photovoltaic power generation, when the unit is full output, generates 320,000 million hours per hour, which is equivalent to a thermal power unit." Wu Peisen said. The advantages of floating photovoltaics are obvious. On the one hand, it can save land resources and make three-dimensional utilization of reservoirs; on the other hand, it can reduce the evaporation of water, and combined with wind power generation, it can also create a comprehensive new energy demonstration base.Editor/Ma Xue
