This project not only promotes local employment and economic development, but also provides Croatia with green and clean energy. It can be regarded as a model of win-win cooperation between Croatia and China, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two countries.
The Saini Wind Power Project was built by North International Cooperation Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "North International"), a subsidiary of China North Industries Corporation. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in November 2018. The total planned investment is 179 million euros, and it is expected to contribute about 530 million kWh per year. Green electricity reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 460,000 tons. According to the reporter's understanding, since the official operation of the Saini wind power project in 2022, the total power generation is about to exceed 100 million kWh.
Veljacic is responsible for construction safety, fire protection and environmental protection in the Seni wind power project. She introduced that the project is located in forests and mountainous areas, and there are often severe weather such as strong winds, rain, snow and thunderstorms, and the construction scale is large and the technology is complex. The new crown epidemic has added unprecedented difficulties and challenges to the project. However, the construction of the Saini Wind Power Project has ensured 100% safety from beginning to end, without any casualties or safety accidents, and the project was successfully completed on schedule.
Veljacic said that in addition to Chinese companies, more than 70 Croatian companies participated in the construction of the project. During the construction period, more than half of the people working on the site each day were from Croatia. Most of the Croatian companies and workers are from Lica-Senj County, where the project is located, the largest and least populated county in Croatia. Veljacic believes that the grid-connected power generation of the Seni wind power project will further promote the local economic development, promote employment, and stimulate local investment. More importantly, the participation in this project has enabled many Croatian companies to gain valuable experience and improve their competitiveness in Croatia and even in Europe.
Talking about the Chinese company and the Chinese personnel who built the Seny Wind Power Project, Veljacic said that they have cooperated and communicated well with the Chinese personnel. The Chinese personnel have undertaken and completed the most arduous work, showing extraordinary professionalism and superb skills. During the construction process, the Chinese company abides by all laws and regulations of Croatia and the European Union, as well as safety and environmental protection measures.
"Chinese engineers have given us a lot of help. No matter day or night, no matter the weather is good or bad, they are always working on site and providing us with professional help at any time," Veljacic said. Keywords: One Belt One Road, One Belt One Road News, One Belt One Road Project
