The National Energy Administration and the Ministry of Science and Technology recently issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for Energy Sector Science and Technology Innovation Plan", which clarified the overall goals of China's energy science and technology innovation during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, and focused on advanced renewable energy, new power systems, etc. On the other hand, a technical roadmap has been formulated.

The "Planning" proposes that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the existing major short-board technologies and equipment in the energy field will basically achieve breakthroughs; forward-looking and disruptive energy technologies are rapidly emerging, and new business forms and new models continue to emerge, forming a number of energy long-board technologies. New advantages; the energy technology innovation system that meets the requirements of high-quality development is further improved; energy technology innovation strongly supports and leads the high-quality development of the energy industry.

In terms of advanced renewable energy power generation and comprehensive utilization technologies, it is proposed to develop advanced renewable energy power generation and comprehensive utilization technologies, overcome key technologies for efficient hydrogen production, storage and transportation, filling and fuel cells, and promote the integration of hydrogen energy and renewable energy.

In terms of new power systems and their supporting technologies, it is proposed to speed up the research on the core technologies of the power grid, support the construction of an advanced power grid that is suitable for large-scale renewable energy and distributed power grid-friendly, two-way interaction between source, grid and load, intelligent and efficient, and breaks through key technologies for energy storage. , core equipment to meet the development needs of the energy system.

In terms of safe and efficient nuclear energy technology, it is proposed to carry out optimization research on key technologies of the third generation of nuclear power, and to carry out research on key core technologies of new generation advanced nuclear energy systems such as small modular reactors, (ultra) high temperature gas-cooled reactors, and molten salt reactors.

In terms of green and efficient fossil energy development and utilization technologies, it is proposed to carry out key core technologies related to the exploration and development, transportation and refining of conventional and unconventional oil and gas, and form a technical system for the green, intelligent and efficient development and utilization of coal.

In terms of the digital and intelligent technology of the energy system, it is proposed to promote the deep integration of traditional industries such as coal, oil and gas, power plants, and power grids with digital and intelligent technologies to lead the transformation and upgrading of the energy industry.Editor/Ma Xue
