On April 14, 2022, the Liaocheng Government Information Office held the tenth session of the series of press conferences focusing on six new Liaocheng themes, introducing the key work carried out around the construction of a stable and harmonious happy new Liaocheng. A reporter from Seedao.com learned from the meeting that the Dong'e-Yanggu Expressway, which has attracted widespread public attention, is scheduled to start construction before the end of 2022.

The Dong'e-Yanggu Expressway project route is about 60 kilometers long and covers an area of 7,571 mu. There are 1650m/5 bridges along the line; 616m/9 middle bridges; 2 hub interchanges, 5 general interchanges; 1 service area, 1 monitoring and communication sub-center, and 1 maintenance area. At present, the preliminary design of the project has been basically completed, and investment promotion is being accelerated, and construction is planned to start before the end of the year.

It is reported that this expressway is the east extension of Xinnan Expressway, connecting Deshang and Deyun expressways from east to west, crossing Xinxian, Yanggu and Dong'e counties (3.1 kilometers in Xinxian County, 33.1 kilometers in Yanggu, and 22.3 kilometers in Dong'e). Radiation 8 townships (offices), benefiting nearly 1.5 million people.
