Indian renewable energy developer Greenko Group has teamed up with Belgian alkaline electrolyzer specialist John Cockerill to manufacture green hydrogen electrolyzers in India. The partnership agreement signed between Greenko's subsidiary Greenko ZeroC (GZC) and John Cockerill will allow the two companies to build 2 GW of hydrogen electrolyzer capacity.

GZC and John Cockerill will combine their respective strengths to collaborate in various areas of market development for green hydrogen electrolysers. "John Cockerill's pressurized alkaline technology is ideal for 'large-scale' hydrogen applications. Combined with Greenko's low-cost, all-weather renewable energy solutions, it will achieve the lowest levelized cost of hydrogen required to implement large-scale H2 ecosystems in the Indian subcontinent (LCOH)," Greenko's statement read.
The Gigafactory will include the complete electrolyser manufacturing value chain, including state-of-the-art nickel coatings. It will produce electrolyzers that provide high-purity H2 at 30 bar at the outlet.

Anil Chalamalasetty, CEO and Managing Director of Greenko, said: "Greenko is working hard to find re-industrial solutions for a low carbon economy. We are working with world-class technology partner John Cockerill to jointly develop large-scale green molecular projects in India, accelerating Building a hydrogen economy. This partnership will not only help reduce India's energy imports, but will also facilitate a shift in energy exports. It will strengthen India's green hydrogen ambitions as part of a broader renewable energy plan, where India will Implementing the world's largest energy transition program." Raphael Tilot, CEO of John Cockerill Renewables, said: "Tackling climate change is part of our mission and our partnership with Greenko will allow us to contribute to the Indian subcontinent as a new green energy hub. India and its neighbours are rich in natural Resources, a large domestic market, and the potential to meet the growth of this market on a regional and global scale. On the people side, the collaboration between the Indian and Belgian teams has made good progress and we are confident in the future. "Editor/XingWentao
