On April 15, 2022, the Gansu Provincial Development and Reform Commission officially approved the feasibility study report of the Xihe-Dangchang Expressway project.

It is reported that the starting point of the Xihe-Dangchang Expressway project is located in Shixia Town, Xihe County. , Baihe, Hanyuan, Nanyang, the end point is located in Baiyangba Village, Linjiangpu, Dangchang County, and is connected to the G75 Lanhai Expressway by a hub interchange. The main line is 99.848 kilometers long, adopts the technical standard of two-way four-lane expressway, and has a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The total investment of the project is 19.006 billion yuan, and the construction is financed by the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The construction period is 4 years.

It is reported that the Xihe-Dangchang Expressway is a local expressway project included in the "14th Five-Year Plan for Comprehensive Transportation System Development Plan in Gansu Province" and the "14th Five-Year Plan for Highway and Waterway Traffic Development in Gansu Province". In the future, with the implementation and construction of this project, it will further improve the road network structure in the southern part of Gansu Province, enhance the radiation driving function of the main channel of the national expressway, speed up the construction of the comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network in Longnan, and create a red tourist route.
