At the CNNC Party Building Work Conference in 2022, Luo Ying, the scientific and technological leader of CNNC, the deputy director of the key laboratory of China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute, and the leader of Luo Ying's innovation studio, was selected as the CNNC Endeavour China Nuclear Person and was commended. In the face of this new identity, in addition to being grateful, she also felt a heavy responsibility on her shoulders.

The imprint of inheritance

Intimidated by my ears and eyes, I encourage myself. In 1993, the 22-year-old Luo Ying entered the Nuclear Power Institute, and thus took over the first major project in his life - the second phase of the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant.

"There are really many difficulties to overcome," Luo Ying recalled. At that time, the reactor pressure vessel was manufactured by Doosan Heavy Industries, Ltd. in South Korea. In order to understand the key technologies in the pressure vessel manufacturing process, she served on site for 600 days, continuously Three Spring Festivals were spent there. In the factory, workers can take shifts to rest, but as a representative of the Chinese side, Luo Ying needs to be online at any time to help everyone solve technical problems. In a foreign country, new problems waiting to be solved, new knowledge to be learned, barriers of language barriers, accumulation of nostalgia in his heart, and many difficulties, Luo Ying persevered through gritted teeth. The dedication mentioned by the seniors has become a guiding light for her work without realizing it.

In 2001, when everyone was immersed in the joy of crossing the new millennium, Luo Ying also ushered in the gift of life - her child was born. Luo Ying is well-deserved about her work, but for her life, she misses a lot of her children's growing moments because of her work, which is her biggest regret. Thanks to her family's support, she has no worries. "They understand me very well and have helped me bear a lot of pressure in life." What moved Luo Ying the most was that the child said that her mother was her idol and her pride. . "Isn't this also a kind of inheritance?" Luo Ying said with emotion, "nuclear genes" will continue from generation to generation.

With the support of her family, Xingguang has a sense of mission to "devote herself to the scientific research of reactors and lead the world's nuclear power with China's nuclear power". Luo Ying not only successfully solved the major non-conformities of the Qinshan Phase II nuclear power project, but also guaranteed the nodes Completed on time, and also brought this spiritual power into the follow-up work, and continued to inherit.

Deep diving field

As early as the 1990s, the traditional decentralized top structure has become a major problem in the reactor structure and equipment, and it is recognized as a "hard bone". The decentralized arrangement not only takes up a large space, but also consumes a lot of time in the process of reactor maintenance and refueling. The concept of "integrated top structure scheme" has long existed, but it has not been implemented due to various restrictions.

In 2011, Luo Ying waited for an opportunity. At the technical discussion meeting on the top structure scheme of the ACP1000 reactor of CNNC, the "Dragon Head" integrated top structure scheme was officially established. Luo Ying and his team took over this "hard bone".

The ventilation and heat dissipation capability of the control rod drive mechanism is an important performance index of the integrated top. Before the physical test, Luo Ying and her team could only examine the ventilation capacity of the top structure through computer simulation. Only by practicing embroidery can you nibble on hard bones. It requires systematic thinking, and it is also a delicate job. After days and nights of hard work, a detailed model of the flow field at the top of the reactor was established. In the ventilation test, from the power performance of the fan to the parameter model of each sensor, Luo Ying did everything by himself; in the construction design of the integrated stack top structure product, Luo Ying led the team members to complete hundreds of sheets The top drawing design is strictly checked to ensure that there are no fallacies and mistakes.

On the one hand, the research on the integrated pile top is in full swing, and on the other hand, new challenges follow.

The third-generation nuclear power plant requires a control rod drive mechanism with longer life, higher shock resistance, and higher reliability. It is the only moving part in the reactor and is responsible for reactor startup, power regulation, power maintenance, normal shutdown and accident shutdown. Reactor and other functions, and its equipment performance is directly related to the safety and reliability of the reactor operation. At the same time, Luo Yinghe's team carried out the research and development of the ML-B drive mechanism suitable for the third-generation nuclear power plant.

In order to realize the complete localization of the ML-B drive mechanism, Luo Ying led the team to independently develop the double-tooth hook, and cooperated with domestic research institutions to complete the localized development of the raw materials of the drive rod and the detachable joint, and finally realized the ML-B. The B-type drive mechanism is 100% domestically designed and manufactured. In November 2013, the ML-B drive mechanism passed all seismic test items. However, before it was too late to celebrate, Luo Ying turned around and devoted himself to the development of a long-life, high-temperature-resistant ML-C drive mechanism, and successfully developed new components such as a 440-level high-temperature-resistant coil and a new integrated rod position detector. "It's a lie to say that it's not hard work, but struggle makes me feel more excited and energetic!" Every time the word "struggle" is mentioned, Luo Ying's tone is more firm.

Time comes to 2018, and years of dedicated research have finally yielded fruit: in March, the ML-B control rod drive mechanism of Fuqing Unit 5, the world's first demonstration project of Hualong No. 1, passed the factory acceptance; in May, the integrated top of the reactor passed smoothly. Acceptance is a major achievement of the Nuclear Power Institute in the fields of innovative design, equipment manufacturing and independent supply, and it is also another milestone in the career of Luo Yinghe and his team.

Looking ahead

The reactor pressure vessel is the core equipment of the pressurized water reactor nuclear power plant. In order to solve the technical problem of "stuck neck", realize comprehensive independent innovation, and further promote the innovative research and development in the frontier field of reactor pressure vessels, Luo Yinghe team has undertaken the research and development of a variety of special projects, forming a global spectrum development, covering various needs .

"How can we achieve results? It still depends on talents!" From the first day of the studio's establishment, Luo Ying made it clear that she must take responsibility and cultivate a group of mainstays who can play a leading role in the future of China's nuclear industry. For talent training, Luo Ying uses the studio mentoring model to cultivate innovative talents, and conduct periodic assessments of "masters" and "apprentices" to ensure the implementation of the training effect. At the same time, she innovatively implemented the political mentor and psychological mentor system to make talent training "three-dimensional" and "three-dimensional", more comprehensive and more reliable.

"She is a very attentive person," said Wang Xiaotong, a member of Luo Ying's innovation studio and one of Luo Ying's students. A group of jumping data confirms the steady progress of China's nuclear industry: Luo Ying Innovation Studio has so far won 1 first prize for National Defense Science and Technology Invention, 1 first prize for National Defense Science and Technology Progress, and China National Nuclear Corporation Technology Invention Special Award 1, and 38 other provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards; the studio has applied for more than 100 patents during the operation period, obtained 83 authorized invention patents, and 11 authorized utility model patents; the number of operating steps of the new control rod drive mechanism exceeded 18 million In the next step, it passed the 0.3g seismic test, setting a world record; the life of the reactor pressure vessel reached 60 years, and the safety was greatly improved.

One after another major events outline a new development in the field of civil nuclear power: the world's first Fuqing nuclear power plant, Hualong No. 1, has been successfully connected to the grid for power generation; going abroad, Hualong No. 1 has successfully landed in Pakistan and other countries, and signed a contract with the Argentine nuclear power company. Procurement and construction contracts; my country's first nuclear power international standard "Code for Design of Primary Circuit Coolant System Equipment and Pipeline Insulation Layer of Pressurized Water Reactor Nuclear Power Plants" led by the Institute of Nuclear Power and compiled by the studio will be officially released in 2020.

Another spring has come as promised, and in the field not far from the Nuclear Power Institute, a seed is accumulating the power to grow upward.
