On April 20, 2022, the Gansu Provincial Department of Transportation approved the preliminary designs of the Qingyang transit section of the G244 line and the Heshui (old city) to Xifeng section of the G309 line, with a total mileage of 122 kilometers and a total investment of 13.31 billion yuan. According to reports, both projects are key highway projects included in the "14th Five-Year Plan for Highway and Waterway Transportation Development in Gansu Province".

The starting point of the Qingyang transit section of G244 line is at the west side of Leijiaxianzi Village, Gaolou Town, Qingcheng County. It is located in Sandifferent Village, Xiaojin Town, with a total length of 69.3 kilometers. It adopts the technical standard of two-way four-lane first-class highway and has a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The estimated total investment of the project is 5.578 billion yuan, and the construction is based on government fees and debt repayment. The construction period is 3 years.

The starting point of the project from Heshui (Old Town) to Xifeng of the G309 line is located in Wangtaizi Village, an old town in Heshui County. Located on the east side of Longdong College in Wenquan Town, a hub interchange is set up to connect with the Qingyang transit section of the proposed G244 line. The main line is 52.7 kilometers long. At the same time, 18.3 kilometers of Taige connecting line will be constructed. The main line adopts the technical standard of two-way four-lane first-class highway with a design speed of 80 km/h. The estimated total investment of the project is 7.73 billion yuan, and the construction is based on government fees and debt repayment. The construction period is 3 years.

In the future, with the implementation and construction of these two projects, it will greatly improve the road network structure in southeastern Longdong, speed up the construction of Qingyang comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, promote Qingyang's integration into the Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration and the high-quality development of old revolutionary areas, and support Qingyang. It has become a regional central city in Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia and the first demonstration city of comprehensive transportation in the new era of the old revolutionary base, helping the high-quality economic development of Qingyang County.
