Recently, concrete pouring for the frame columns of Nanning North Station of the newly-built Guinan High-speed Railway Station began, marking the official start of the main project of the station.

Nanning North Railway Station is located in the west of Nanning Wuming City and east of the ASEAN Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is positioned as a comprehensive transportation hub in the north of Nanning. At present, Nanning has three railway passenger stations: Nanning, Nanning East, and Nanning West. The construction of Nanning North Station has played a positive role in Nanning's promotion of the construction of a strong hub.

The Guinan high-speed railway runs through the northwest of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the southeast of Guizhou Province. It is the first high-speed railway in Guangxi with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and it is also an important part of the new north-south land route and the new western land-sea channel of the Belt and Road. Eight new stations in Nanningbei, Mashan, Duan, Yongan, Hechi, Huanjiang, Libo and Dushan are newly built across the line, and are expected to be completed in 2023.

With a construction area of nearly 30,000 square meters, Nanning North Station is the largest station among the newly built stations on the entire Guinan high-speed rail line. The scale of the station is 3 stations and 8 lines, and 2 arrival and departure lines are reserved. It mainly undertakes the departure, arrival and passing train operations of Guinan, Nanchong and Nanyu high-speed trains. It is expected to send 8.5 million passengers per year.

At present, more than 95% of the total designed earthwork for bridges, tunnels and roadbeds in the Guangxi section of the Guinan high-speed railway has been completed, and the entire line is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2023. At that time, the travel time from Nanning to Guiyang will be shortened from the current five hours to about two hours, which is of great significance to promoting the deep integration of transportation, logistics, commerce and industry in the two provinces and regions of Guizhou and Guizhou.Editor/Ma Xue
