On April 21, 2022, the Xingang Expressway Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge and connection project invested and constructed by Hubei Communications Investment Group was officially approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission. The project is scheduled to start construction this year, and Wuhan will add another Yangtze River Bridge.

Shuangliu Bridge Project

According to reports, the Xingang Expressway Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge and its connection project have a total length of 34.69 kilometers and an estimated investment of 16.654 billion yuan. The Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge section adopts a two-way eight-lane standard with a subgrade width of 41.5 meters, and other sections adopt a two-way six-lane standard with a subgrade width of 34 meters. , the design speed is 120 km/h, passing through Wuhan Xinzhou District and Ezhou Huarong District, and the construction period is 48 months.

As one of the key river-crossing passages in Hubei Province in the "Yangtze River Trunk Line Cross-river Channel Layout Plan (2020-2035)" issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Shuangliu Bridge Project is also included in the "Hubei Province Comprehensive Transportation Development" Expressway key projects in the 14th Five-Year Plan.
