April 24, 2022 is the seventh "China Space Day", with the theme of "Space Lighting Dreams". From the successful launch of my country's first artificial earth satellite "Dongfanghong-1" on April 24, 1970, to the successful return of Shenzhou 13 in 2022. After more than 60 years of exploration and development, China Aerospace has made leaps and bounds on the road to the sky, constantly refreshing new heights of China's aerospace.

Why is China Space Day on April 24?

On April 24, 1970, China's first artificial earth satellite Dongfanghong-1 was successfully launched, which opened the prelude to the Chinese people's exploration of the mysteries of the universe, the peaceful use of space, and the benefit of mankind. The "China Space Day" was established with this as a symbol to promote my country's consistent purpose of peaceful use of outer space, vigorously promote the spirit of spaceflight, scientifically popularize spaceflight knowledge, stimulate the enthusiasm of the whole nation for exploration and innovation, and sing "explore the vast universe and develop spaceflight". The main theme of "Career, Building a Powerful Country in Space" condenses the powerful force to realize the Chinese dream of spaceflight.

Chasing Dream Space keeps making new progress

"Zhu Rong" explored the fire and left a mark belonging to China on the distant Mars; "Xihe" made a breakthrough in China's solar exploration every day; The crews of No. 1 and No. 13 successfully completed their flight missions. In the past year, China Aerospace Dreams has made continuous progress.

In the field of deep space exploration: the lunar exploration project "circling, landing, and returning" came to a successful conclusion, and Chang'e 5 brought back 1,731 grams of lunar soil; Tianwen-1 realized the leap from the Earth-Moon system to interplanetary exploration in China's spaceflight, and launched a new mission on Mars. It left China's imprint for the first time. In the field of manned spaceflight: Since 2020, my country has successfully implemented the first flight of the Long March 5B carrier rocket, the Tianhe core module of the space station, the Shenzhou 12, Shenzhou 13 manned spacecraft, Tianzhou 2, Tianzhou The No. 3 cargo spacecraft has a total of 6 flight missions, successfully completing the mission objectives of the key technology verification stage.

In rural and remote areas, communication satellites have opened live TV for more than 140 million households, providing services such as distance education, telemedicine, and rural e-commerce; in the fields of mass travel, smart logistics, ocean transportation, and precision agriculture, the Beidou system is widely used. , providing accurate positioning and navigation for material transportation and personnel flow; in the face of diverse needs, the cumulative distribution of remote sensing satellite images exceeds 100 million scenes.

Space station construction, asteroid exploration, China Aerospace continues to expand new journeys

In 2022, China Aerospace will still be "busy". The Chinese space station will complete the on-orbit construction task; the fourth phase of the lunar exploration project and the major asteroid detection mission have officially started the project development, and China's space and interplanetary exploration will continue to expand new journeys. In the future, the Chang'e 6, Chang'e 7, and Chang'e 8 probes will be launched successively to carry out key technological breakthroughs and the construction of an international lunar scientific research station. Among them, Chang'e-6 plans to sample the far side of the moon, and is demonstrating the construction of a constellation of communication and navigation satellites around the moon.

According to Hao Chun, director of the China Manned Space Engineering Office, the orbital construction of the Chinese space station will be completed this year, and six missions are planned: the launch of the Tianzhou-4 cargo spacecraft in May; the launch of the Shenzhou-14 manned spacecraft in June, the Shenzhou-10 spacecraft The crew of the No. 4 manned spacecraft is also composed of three astronauts, who will stay in orbit for 6 months; the space station Wentian experimental module will be launched in July; the space station Mengtian experimental module will be launched in October. The three modules of the space station will form a "T" basic configuration, completing the on-orbit construction of the Chinese space station. Later, the Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft and the Shenzhou-15 manned spacecraft will be launched. From scratch and self-reliance, my country's aerospace industry has gradually mastered the ability to enter space, but compared with the world's aerospace powers, there is still a gap.Editor/Xing Wentao
