Nigerian tech company Kasi Cloud broke ground on a $250 million data center in Nigeria's port city of Lekki, in a ceremony attended by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Work begins on a "transformative" Nigerian data center, the first of several Kasi plans to build in Nigeria, which the company says will bring a "new generation" of cloud computing to West Africa. Built on 4 hectares of land in the Meyergon area on the southeastern coast of Lagos city, the center will be modeled after the tech park of San Francisco's Silicon Valley.
Johnson Agogbua, co-founder and CEO of Kasi, said in a statement that the company's goal is to "build a digital platform to accelerate cloud computing and connect individuals, businesses and government agencies in Nigeria and across Africa". Keywords: engineering construction, engineering news
The project is supported by the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority. Its chief executive Uche Orji said improved infrastructure has the potential to transform Nigeria into a leader in Africa's digital industry and improve internet access for more than a billion people.Editor/XingWentao
