Recently, the construction of the second phase of the Northeast Anhui Natural Gas Pipeline Project, the Lai'an-Quanjiao-Hexian section, was officially started.

According to reports, the Northeast Anhui Natural Gas Pipeline is the main natural gas pipeline planned and constructed by Anhui Province to introduce LNG (liquefied natural gas) gas sources from Shandong, Qingdao and other coastal areas, with a total investment of 3.1 billion yuan. The pipeline is connected from the national main pipeline network Qingdao-Nanjing connecting line Yangzhou sub-transmission station, through Tianchang, Chuzhou, Lai'an, Fengyang, Hexian, etc. It is a new strategic gas source channel in Anhui Province during the 14th Five-Year Plan. The first phase of the Tianchang-Laian-Fengyang section of the pipeline is scheduled to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2022.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Anhui Provincial Energy Bureau, since 2022, the project unit and local governments along the route have overcome the impact of the epidemic, strengthened coordination and dispatch, and made every effort to promote the preliminary work of the project, ensuring that the project starts as planned. With the construction of the second phase of the Northeast Anhui Natural Gas Pipeline, it will help to build an integrated and networked natural gas backbone network for north-south interconnection and east-west interconnection in Anhui Province, ensure natural gas supply in the province, expand effective investment, and further enhance infrastructure support capabilities.
