Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the economies of all countries are facing challenges. China's strict implementation of normalized epidemic prevention and control measures to minimize the impact of the epidemic on economic and social development will not only help stabilize the global industrial chain and supply chain, but will also enable the international community to continue to have confidence in China's long-term economic development.

Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, China's economy has developed rapidly, creating a huge middle-income group. China's middle-income group has formed a huge consumer market, especially this consumer group's strong demand for high-quality products will have a profound impact on the consumption and business models in China and the world.

China is accelerating the construction of a new development pattern, and the Chinese market needs more high-quality and high-tech services, which will bring new opportunities for global investors. There is no doubt that China is still an important target market for the world's major multinational companies. At the same time, China's high-tech products will also accelerate to the world. China is at the forefront of the world in fields such as high-speed rail, big data, artificial intelligence, and smart cities.

China firmly supports economic globalization and free trade, actively promotes the entry into force of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), encourages cross-regional trade and investment, and actively joins hands with all parties to expand the global economic pie. RCEP is the largest regional trade agreement in the world. China's active participation, including the implementation of wider, wider and deeper opening, will greatly promote trade and investment among RCEP member countries.

RCEP and the Belt and Road Initiative have a lot in common and can complement each other's advantages. Building infrastructure within the framework of the Belt and Road cooperation can not only promote trade and investment among RCEP member countries and accelerate the process of regional economic integration, but also help the development of developing or late-developing countries in the region. RCEP supports free and open trade in services, with 65% of the region's service industries to gradually open up, especially e-commerce, financial and communication services. China has advantages in these areas. With the help of RCEP's service trade open policy, countries can complement each other's advantages and create business opportunities from improving the value chain and supply chain.

China is actively implementing the concept of green development. To achieve the dual carbon goal, the Chinese government has formulated a series of policies to support wind, solar and other clean energy projects, accelerate the development of electric vehicles, and lay an important foundation for sustainable development. China attaches great importance to the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road, and jointly builds the Green Silk Road with all parties, which will promote the balance between environmental protection and economic development in the countries along the route.

In 2021, the Malaysian government announced the 12th Malaysia Plan to support the development of the digital economy, strengthen transportation infrastructure, and encourage the development of new energy and smart cities. With the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and effective RCEP, Malaysia and China can leverage their respective advantages to carry out more cooperation in new energy, green finance, green building, green tourism, health industry and other fields. Economic imbalances and the widening gap between the rich and the poor are one of the major challenges facing the world in the 21st century. In order to effectively meet this challenge, we need to pay more attention to human capital investment and cultivate high-quality laborers; to promote the coordinated development of urban and rural areas and regions, and to improve the income imbalance between urban and rural areas and regions; we need to pay attention to the widening income gap caused by industrial transformation. At present, China is striving to promote common prosperity in high-quality development, which will contribute to a more balanced, inclusive and sustainable development.Editor/XuNing
