Ground has been broken on the first phase of DP World's Jafza Logistics Park, advertised as a purpose-built trade and logistics development. Located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), the campus will accommodate the growing number of warehousing, processing and logistics activities taking place in Dubai. According to a statement from DP World, the new facility will build on the success of the Jafza logistics cluster, which has grown by 14 percent since 2016. The total leasable area of the project is over 46,000 square meters, of which 87% will be allocated for storage. The rest of the space is dedicated to office facilities.
Jafza Logistics Park businesses will be able to leverage DP World's comprehensive end-to-end logistics solutions and expertise as a data-driven supply chain logistics provider. Located between Jebel Ali Port, Al Maktoum International Airport and Etihad Rail's Jebel Ali Station, the park will facilitate the efficient and seamless flow of goods in the region and around the world, the statement explained.
Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and General Manager of DP World UAE & Jafza, and the company's leadership team attended the groundbreaking ceremony. He explained: “We recognise the critical role the logistics sector plays in fostering the development of various industries globally. Jafza aligns with important government initiatives such as the Dubai Silk Road Strategy to boost economic growth. He concluded: “We are building the Jafza Logistics Park to respond to the increase in demand and further drive the development of the UAE’s logistics industry. Logistics companies in e-commerce and similar growth areas can benefit from the park’s modern offerings, including digital trade support, Competitive cost and customizable units.
