On the morning of May 5, 2022, after more than 1,000 builders fought day and night, an important part of the Yunnan-Tibet Railway, the Yulong Snow Mountain Tunnel of the Lijiang-Shangri-La Railway, passed through safely. So far, 19 of the 20 tunnels on the whole line have been penetrated, and only 1 has not been penetrated.

At present, the bridges, subgrades, and station buildings of the Lixiang Railway are all completed, and the remaining track laying beams and four electric power projects are progressing in an orderly manner according to the construction organization plan. After the Lixiang Railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will take only one and a half hours from Lijiang to Shangri-La, and about five hours from Kunming to Shangri-La. It is of great significance to complement the railway network in northwestern Yunnan, boost the high-quality economic and social development along the line, and promote ethnic unity and rural revitalization.Editor/Ma Xue
