On May 8, 2022, after 5 years and 5 months of hard work by the builders of the China Railway 12th Bureau Group, the first super-large water-rich karst tunnel in southwest China, the Chaoyang Tunnel of the Gui (Yang) Nan (Ning) High-speed Railway, was successfully completed, marking the A major breakthrough has been made in the construction of the most difficult unfavorable geological tunnel along the entire line.
The Chaoyang Tunnel of Guinan High-speed Railway has a total length of 12,734 meters and a maximum buried depth of 432 meters.
During the construction of the Chaoyang Tunnel of Guinan High-speed Railway, more than 1,000 large and small karsts have been encountered, of which 100 large karsts exude water, and the maximum daily water inflow at the tunnel exit exceeds 1.6 million cubic meters. In order to ensure the safe and smooth progress of the project construction, the Chaoyang Tunnel design adopts the auxiliary tunnel construction scheme of "2 transverse holes + 1 inclined shaft + 2 horizontal guides + 1 ventilation shaft + 17 transverse passages". The total length of the auxiliary tunnels is 10,538 meters. Both the amount of water inflow and the number of cavities have created the highest high-speed rail construction in Southwest China.Editor/Ma Xue
