Recently, at the construction site of the 38th Regiment of the 2nd Division, the Tazhong Desert Highway, undertaken by the International Engineering Division of Beixin Road and Bridge Group, more than 30 bulldozers are excavating and filling the roadbed and advancing towards the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert. Looking around, there is a tortuous track of activity in the entire desert.

Since the start of the project, the construction workers have been sticking to their posts, working hard to overcome a series of difficulties such as no water, no electricity, no roads, no communication, no human beings, and sandstorms. The planned total investment of Xinjiang Tazhong Desert Highway is 923 million yuan, with a total line of 151.764 kilometers. The starting point is at the 38th Regiment and the end point is at Tazhong Town, Qiemo County. The project is an important part of the main passage in southern Xinjiang. After completion, it will greatly facilitate the travel of local people. At the same time, it will effectively drive surrounding tourism and resource development, improve the natural environment in desert areas, and help improve the national road network and promote southern Xinjiang.
