Hitachi's ZW100-6 builds on the company's reputation for top-of-the-line wheel loaders with increased loading efficiency, easy maintenance, intuitive controls and a cab designed to keep operators safe throughout the workday.

Hitachi continues to expand its ZW-6 wheel loader in North America with the introduction of the ZW100-6 compact model. Developed for a variety of applications - including landscaping; excavation work; water, sewer and pipeline construction; highway and road construction; and agricultural work - the small but powerful ZW100-6 wheel loader has an operating weight of 17,042 lbs (7,730 lbs. kg), a 1.4 ydcu (1.1 m3) bucket capacity and a 101 hp (74 kW) Tier 4 Final engine. This new ZW-6 model also features a spacious cab with 360-degree visibility, ride controls and onboard technology that improves operator comfort and increases productivity through fast and efficient cycle times.

Advanced technologies developed by Hitachi affect everything from the environmental performance of a wheel loader to operator comfort and safety to the cost of ownership. For example, every ZW-6 wheel loader is equipped with a diesel aftertreatment system that eliminates the hassle and cost associated with diesel particulate filter (DPF) systems, plus onboard technology and advanced telematics to help Contractors better manage their fleet and operating expenses. This technology-led approach enables Hitachi to meet the changing needs of the construction industry while improving the customer experience with the new generation of wheel loaders.

Running smoothly

Thanks to the hydrostatic transmission control system, the new ZW100-6 is easy to operate. The operator can choose between two working modes depending on the task and terrain, and experience a smooth transition between speeds. Additionally, this model's Ride Control feature minimizes machine pitch for a smoother ride and reduced bucket material spillage.

The oscillating rear axle on the ZW100-6 gives it greater stability and traction than a fixed axle loader, especially on uneven ground. For increased efficiency when working in snow, slippery or muddy conditions, the traction control system on the ZW100-6 helps avoid tire slippage and ultimately prevents wear and fuel waste while reducing running costs. This feature makes this new Hitachi model very effective for light duty applications.

powerful performance

This new ZW-6 model features a Tier 4 Final certified engine that does not require a DPF, reducing fuel consumption and maintenance costs. For example, the ZW100-6 has demonstrated greater fuel efficiency than previous models in V-loading and load and haul operations. This can result in significant savings in operating costs. For efficient agility, it has a quick power switch that increases engine output when more power is immediately needed or when going uphill.

excellent visibility

The ZW100-6 cab's 360-degree panoramic view is an industry-leading safety feature that also creates a comfortable, productive work environment. An optional rear-view camera also helps provide excellent all-round visibility and safety on the job site.

Additionally, the muffler and air intakes on this all-new ZW-6 model have been repositioned to give the machine a sleek and modern curved hood design, and are aligned to improve rear-view visibility from the cab, further enhancing safety in a variety of vehicles work place.

Enhanced Cab Environment

The cab of the ZW100-6 provides the operator with a quiet and comfortable working environment. The sound insulation of the cab has been improved, resulting in a significant reduction in noise levels. The low-noise engine also brings quieter performance, making it suitable for work in urban areas. The spacious cab design includes multiple storage compartments for quick access to important items such as PPE, phones and paperwork to further enhance operator efficiency and safety while operating this new ZW-6 machine.

update design

Heavy-duty axles and a reinforced front frame, both designed in-house, have been incorporated into the new Hitachi ZW100-6 wheel loader for increased machine durability. For added protection, optional belly guards protect the machine powertrain and driveshaft from potential damage from ground material.

The ZW100-6 design includes a wide, easy-to-open hood for quick and easy access to all critical machine components. This feature enables operators to perform routine machine inspections safely and quickly from the ground level, ensuring routine maintenance can be easily accomplished for reliable performance.

Remote monitoring

This new model comes with Global Electronic Services, which allows equipment owners to remotely monitor their Hitachi ZW100-6 wheel loader via Owner's Site, as well as Hitachi's complete data toolkit ConSite, which includes a suite of tools for managing loader performance and productivity s application. ConSite tracks performance metrics like idle time, run time, and fuel efficiency, as well as location services, in real time, and alerts owners and operators to upcoming maintenance needs. These "predict and prevent" tools help fleet managers maximize machine efficiency, minimize downtime and improve overall performance. With the addition of the new ZW100-6, the Hitachi ZW-6 wheel loader lineup now includes 15 models. Editor/Xing Wentao
