Early-stage hydro power giant NHPC has already allocated a 1,000-megawatt capacity solar power project in a second-stage, third-stage auction, completing the contract award for the project. The tender was invited by IREDA to build grid-connected solar PV projects totaling 5,000 MW in India. It has received a total of 6960MW of responses from various PSUs.
NHPLimited has awarded the EPC contract for the grid-connected solar photovoltaic project and the power evacuation transmission line of the ISTS substation, as well as the 5-year comprehensive operation and maintenance of the second and third phase of the CPSU plan. The cumulative contract price for the award is Rs 6,604.42 crore with a completion period of 18 months: (i) 600 MW capacity of M/s Adani Infra Limited for a total contract price of Rs 4,295.64 crore Gujarat. (ii) M/s Tata Power Solar Systems Limited has a capacity of 300 MW in Rajasthan with a total contract value of Rs 1,731.57 crore. Other winners of the remaining 4,000 MW include NTPC with 1,990 MW share, SJVN Limited with 1,000 MW, NLC India Limited with 510 MW and IRCON International with 500 MW. All of these energy majors have been completed, with 18-month deadlines in most cases.Editor/XingWentao
