The expressway will reduce the travel time from the airport to the urban area from the previous two hours to 20 minutes, greatly improving the efficiency of urban logistics, significantly reducing the cost of logistics and public commuting, and promoting the economic development of the capital Nairobi and the entire country.

The Nairobi Expressway project is the first highway PPP project in Kenya. It was developed by China Road and Bridge in cooperation with the Kenyan government in the BOT mode. The total length is 27.1 kilometers.
