On May 17, 2022, the pressure-lifting operation of the 270,000-cubic-meter large-scale LNG storage tank at Sinopec Qingdao LNG Terminal was successfully completed. So far, the main structure of the outer tank has been basically completed.
The storage tank was independently developed by Sinopec, with a diameter of 100.6 meters and a height of 55 meters, equivalent to the area of a football field and the height of a 20-story building. It is currently the fastest and largest LNG storage tank in China. With China's ultra-large volume LNG storage tank R&D and construction technology achieving new breakthroughs and entering the world's leading level, it is of great significance to accelerate the construction of China's natural gas production, supply, storage and marketing system to promote high-quality energy development.
The construction of the storage tank belongs to the third phase of the project and is planned to be fully completed in 2023. After completion, the annual unloading capacity will reach 11 million to 14 million tons, and the annual gas supply capacity will be increased to 16.5 billion cubic meters, entering the ranks of ten million-ton LNG receiving stations.Editor/Ma Xue
