On May 16, the Timor-Leste Timba Bay New Container Terminal Project welcomed the ship Zhenhua No. 16 loaded with the owner's port shore machine and yard gate crane. Timor-Leste Prime Minister Ruak attended the welcome ceremony for the arrival of port and shore machine equipment. The East Timor Minister of Transport, Finance Minister, Public Relations Minister, Economic and Trade Minister and many other dignitaries attended the event.

Prime Minister Ruak said that the new container terminal project at Tiba Bay is of great significance to Dongguo. He pointed out that the operation of the port will greatly enhance the maritime trade capacity of East Timor, improve East Timor's trade attractiveness to neighboring countries and international routes, effectively solve the current problems such as difficulty in importing materials from East Timor and long time, and solve the existing problems of Dili. The port is increasingly congested and difficult to expand. Luwak thanked the project team for their efforts, and spoke highly of the company's contribution to Dongguo's infrastructure construction, especially the port project.

The Timor-Leste Timba Bay New Container Terminal Project was undertaken by China Harbour and started in August 2018. The construction contents include land reclamation, high-piled beam slab wharf, storage yard and housing construction. Since the start of construction, it has encountered intricate geological changes, lack of local resources, the new crown pneumonia epidemic and other unfavorable factors. Under the guidance of the company and the South Pacific Regional Center, all participating units of the project worked together to overcome the difficulties and overcome various difficult conditions to ensure that 2 shore cranes and 4 rubber tire gantry cranes arrived at the port smoothly. After the project is completed, it will become the first modern international container freight terminal in the history of East Timor, which will help improve the import and export capacity of East Timor and ensure the safety of economy and people's livelihood.
