On May 18, 2022, the 500 kV power transmission and transformation project from Fengcheng, Taizhou, Jiangsu to Meili, Wuxi, was carried out in the Jiangyin section of the Yangtze River.
The height of the tower is 385 meters, the root of the tower is 75 meters, the elevator lifting height is 375 meters, and the pole lifting height is 420 meters... It has created many world firsts in the field of power transmission.
Cross-river wiring scheme
The tugboat is used to pull and release the guide rope for the wireline construction. During the closed sailing period, the tugboat is used to pull the guide rope from the south bank to the north bank, and the guide rope is docked and lifted off on the north bank to complete the wire guide rope deployment.
Construction is difficult
This project spans the Jiangyin and Jingjiang river basins, where the river flow is fast, there are many undercurrents and vortices, the hydrological conditions are complex, and the construction ships are difficult to position.
The 500 kV Jiangyin Yangtze River, the second largest water area across the Yangtze River, has a width of 2,000 meters. The waters are open and there are many gusts and turbulence. During the cross-river wireline operation from May to June, there are many short-term local strong convective weather, which has a great impact on construction operations. In order to ensure the safety of the wireline construction operation, it is planned to implement 8 closures to the construction waters to strictly prevent ships from entering the core waters of the construction by mistake.
After the project is completed, the maximum transmission capacity will reach 6.6 million kilowatts, which can transport about 28.9 billion kWh of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic power generation in northern Jiangsu to the load center in southern Jiangsu every year, promoting the consumption of clean energy and increasing the total energy consumption in Jiangsu. reduce the reliance on fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum.Editor/Ma Xue
