On the morning of May 18, 2022, the five overseas containers that arrived in Guiyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone via the China-Laos Railway took the China-Europe freight train and departed from Guiyang Doulaying International Land-Sea Link Logistics Port, and are expected to arrive in Budapest, Hungary in half a month. This is also the first time in the country that the China-Laos railway and the China-Europe freight train have been connected for international cargo testing.
This time, the Vietnamese goods were transported by multimodal transport. They took the China-Laos Railway and the China-Europe freight train to leave the country via Khorgos, Urumqi, and passed through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and other countries, and finally arrived in Budapest, Hungary.
Tang Junsong, general manager of Guizhou Multimodal Transport Industry Development Co., Ltd., said that through this connection, Guizhou has created three firsts: the first time that goods from southern Vietnam tried to reach Europe through the China-Laos railway through mainland China.
