On May 3, 2022, I learned from the national public resources trading platform that the public announcement of the winning candidates for the civil works of the reconstruction and expansion project of the Heyuan Hot Water to Huizhou Pingnan Section of the National Expressway from Changchun to Shenzhen has been announced. The project is divided into 9 bids. 8 units including China Railway Bridge Group Co., Ltd. won the bid for the section, with a project investment of about 17.08 billion yuan.

Project Overview

The reconstruction and expansion project of the Heyuan Hot Water to Huizhou Pingnan Section of the Changchun-Shenzhen National Expressway is located in Heyuan City and Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. The mileage is about 116.612Km long, consisting of the 36.5Km section from Heyuan Hot Water to Puqian of Guangdong-Jiangxi Expressway and the 80.112Km section from Heyuan Puqian to Huizhou Pingnan section of Huihe Expressway. The starting point for the reconstruction and expansion of this project is located in Xiantang Town, Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, passing through Yuancheng District, Puqian Town, Boluo County, Huicheng District, Zhongkai High-tech Zone in Huizhou City, and ending at Pingnan Hub, Zhenlong Town, Huiyang District, Huizhou City. Connect the section from Huizhou to Yantian Port of Changshen Expressway.

The project has a total of 796.7m/1 extra-large bridge, 6277.3m/32 bridges, 2234.1m/40 middle bridges, 1508.8m/93 small bridges, and 436 culverts; There are 15 interchanges in Heyuan, Chengnan, Puqian, Shiba, Shiba North, Mapi, Yangcun, Taimei, Sijiaolou, Xiaojinkou, Huizhou West, and Pingnan. 4 interchanges; 24 pedestrian overpasses, of which 1 is newly added, and 23 are demolished and rebuilt; 2 management sub-centers, 2 maintenance work areas, and 4 service areas are set up across the line (2 are renovated and expanded, and 2 are newly built) . The project adopts the standard reconstruction and expansion of a two-way eight-lane expressway. The design speed is 120km/h for the inter-connecting section from Puqian to Baishi, and 100 km/h for the rest of the road. The design load highway of the new construction project is Class I, the standard width of the integral subgrade is 42m, and there are eight lanes; the peak ground acceleration coefficient is 0.05/0.1.
