On May 24, 2022, the two quay cranes built by Wuhan Ship Machinery Haixi Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. under CSSC for French Reunion were successfully shipped. This project is another key project of Haixi Heavy Machinery in the Western Indian Ocean market following the Mauritius project of 3 quay cranes and 8 tire cranes.

The quay crane of this project is designed and manufactured in accordance with European standards, with a rated lifting capacity of 65 tons, which can meet the operational needs of mainstream large container ships in the world. The transfer lock removal platform is introduced into the quay crane operation process, which can efficiently cooperate with the ground straddle carrier, and the operation efficiency is greatly improved.

Reunion is located in the Mascarene Islands in the western part of the Indian Ocean. Reunion Port is the main gateway of Reunion's import and export trade. It plays an important role in international trade in the southern hemisphere and is an important fulcrum of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. The smooth delivery of the quay crane of this project will further enhance the port's handling capacity and competitiveness, and contribute to the promotion of local foreign trade and economic development.Editor/Ma Xue
