At 9:35 on May 27, 2022, Wenzhou Oujiang Beikou Bridge was officially opened to traffic. It is expected that at 18:00, the bridge will be open to social vehicles. This marks the completion of the Yongguan Expressway connecting the three provinces of Guangdong, Fujian and Zhejiang. After the opening to traffic, the time it takes for residents of Yueqing to pass the bridge to Longwan International Airport will be shortened to 15 minutes.

The Oujiang Beikou Bridge is 7.9 kilometers long and runs from north to south, connecting Yueqing Huanghua and Lingkun Island. The main bridge of the bridge is an all-steel structure and spans the Ou River. The bridge is built in the form of two bridges. The upper layer is the double-track Yongtaiwen Expressway, and the lower layer is the Nanjin Highway. The estimated investment is 8.836 billion yuan.

Oujiang Beikou Bridge has three world-class structures: the world's first three-tower four-span double-layer steel truss suspension bridge, the world's first multi-tower continuous-span suspension bridge high-rigidity concrete mid-tower, and the world's first strong tidal estuary deep silty clay super-large caisson foundation. It is one of the bridges with the most technical difficulty and the most complicated construction process in China and even in the world.Editor/Ma Xue
