Danish developer Better Energy has partnered with Finnish solar company Forus to develop more than 1GW of solar PV in Finland. Better Energy will finance, build, operate and own solar power plants in Finland, leveraging Forus' extensive local knowledge as they use the service as a point of contact with landowners and spearhead the development of the project.

Newly established independent power producer Better Energy is involved in the development and construction of more than 100 solar parks with a total project capacity of 7GW, mainly in the Nordic countries. Better Energy is our best partner, says Forus CEO Eero Oksanen. “Finland can produce five times more electricity than it needs from wind and solar. Nordics should take greater responsibility for energy production in Europe.” This is especially evident in light of recent geopolitical events.
BetterEnergy said Finland's application to join NATO led Russian state-owned RAO Nordic to cut off electricity exports to Finland, causing already high electricity prices to rise further. Locally produced clean and sustainable energy is essential not only for our climate and environment, but also for European security policy. There is a need to move towards energy independence, away from the coal, oil and gas of authoritarian regimes. Keywords: engineering construction, engineering news
