On May 29, 2022, the first tank of concrete in the main plant of the Chuzhou Natural Gas Peak Shaving Power Plant Project in Anhui Province was successfully poured, which marked the entry into the substantive construction stage of the first natural gas power generation project in Anhui Province

Chuzhou Natural Gas Peak Shaving Power Plant is located in Shiliang Town Industrial Park, Tianchang City, Chuzhou City. It is planned to build two sets of 450,000-kilowatt gas-steam combined cycle units, with an annual designed power generation capacity of 3.427 billion kWh, which can save about 230,200 tons of standard coal every year. The two units will be completed and put into operation in 2024. After the project is completed, it can effectively utilize the peak staggering effect of electricity and natural gas consumption, and realize two-way peak shaving in which natural gas and electricity are mutually guaranteed, which is in line with the national new energy development direction under the "dual carbon" background. It is of great significance for optimizing the regional energy structure, enhancing the peak-shaving and supply-guaranteing capability of the Anhui power grid, assisting the construction of three regions and one district in Anhui Province, and promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.

The span of the longitudinal axis A~J axis of the main powerhouse of Chuzhou Natural Gas Peak Shaving Power Plant is 55.3m, and the horizontal axis 1~19 axis is 113m. This time, 6 independent foundations with 8 axes were poured, which were poured sequentially from south to north, with a total volume of 115m³, and the milestone node goal was achieved 17 days ahead of schedule.

It is reported that the Chuzhou Natural Gas Peak Shaving Power Plant project is a key peak shaving gas and power project in the "Three-Year Action Plan for Power Supply Guarantee in Anhui Province (2022-2024)", with an investment of about 2.37 billion yuan. As the main gas source, the construction scale is two 450MW 9F gas-steam combined cycle unit projects, with an annual designed power generation capacity of 3.427 billion kWh, which can save about 230,200 tons of standard coal every year.
