2022 UK-based energy investment firm RPC has agreed to build four pending onshore wind projects in Sweden with a combined capacity of 528MW. The 800 million euro deal includes acquisition costs and funds needed to build the project. The four projects, located in the Swedish municipalities of Kramfors and Solleftea, are expected to start exporting electricity to the country's national grid in 2025.
RPC will also be responsible for the procurement and construction management of the four onshore wind farms. Together, the projects are expected to produce enough clean energy to power 182,000 homes. The deal is RPC's third so far in 2022 and increases its onshore wind portfolio in Sweden and Finland from 317 MW to 845 MW. In addition to onshore wind, the company also has a 4GW solar PV pipeline in Spain.
Bob Psaradellis, CEO of RPC, said: "Today marks a milestone moment for RPC and its largest deal to date, but it is also part of a long-term strategy to invest in subsidised renewable energy and storage infrastructure across Europe. We set out to adopt A new approach to investing in, owning and operating renewable energy assets, we believe our long-term relationship with the project is very strong, which is why we continue to have a strong belief in renewable energy despite the current market volatility.
