On June 7, 2022, the first batch of large-scale wind power photovoltaic base projects in the country and the landmark project of the Yalong River Basin water-wind-solar hybrid green and clean renewable energy demonstration base - the Laba Mountain Wind Power Project officially started construction.

According to reports, the Laba Mountain Wind Power Project is located in Dechang County, Liangshan Prefecture, with an installed capacity of 192,000 kilowatts. It is planned to build 60 wind turbines. The fans are distributed in the north, middle and west sides of the main ridge of Laba Mountain along the extended branch of the Yalong River Valley. The Laba Mountain Wind Power Project plans to hoist the first unit in October 2022, and all units will be put into operation in September 2023.

After completion, the annual power generation will exceed 500 million kWh

Since the 14th Five-Year Plan, Sichuan Province has approved a number of wind power projects, and the largest one has been started construction is the Laba Mountain Wind Power Project, which has an equivalent annual utilization hours of 2,612 hours. It can provide about 501 million kWh of clean electricity for Sichuan, which can meet the annual electricity consumption of about 210,000 households. The annual electricity output can save about 160,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 400,000 tons. It is of great significance to achieve the goal of energy conservation and emission reduction and promote the coordinated development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. On the other hand, the Laba Mountain Wind Power Project is the first wind power project to be constructed in the Yalong River Basin Clean Energy Base since the 14th Five-Year Plan. In March 2021, the National Fourteenth Five-Year Plan and the 2035 Vision Outline clearly proposed to build the Yalong River Basin Clean Energy Base, which is one of the nine clean energy bases in China.

After completion, it will become one of the largest green and clean renewable energy bases in the world.

The construction environment of the project is open, and the construction area is mostly located in the forest area, and the pressure of forest fire prevention and control is high.
