Thailand is planning a major new highway project to reduce congestion on key routes. The new road will connect Saraburi and Nakhon Nayok with an estimated construction cost of US$2.33 billion.
The construction of the new expressway link aims to reduce the heavy traffic on the existing Pahon Yotin Road north of the capital Bangkok. Proposals for the new expressway will be evaluated by the Board of Directors of the Highways Authority of Thailand.
Proposals for the Chalong Rat to Nakhon Ayeok-Sarabur highway project should be submitted to EXAT by the end of 2022, if it goes according to the expected timetable. The contract for the project should be awarded in 2023. Construction is expected to begin in 2024. Work is expected to be carried out in four phases, with construction expected to start in 2026.Editor/XingWentao
