Since 2022, the development of new industries such as new energy, hydrogen energy, and new energy storage in China has accelerated, and a number of major projects such as large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases and advanced nuclear power have started construction one after another.

The first one million kilowatt-class offshore wind farm in China, the Three Gorges Yangjiang Shapa Offshore Wind Farm, just put into operation in 2021, has produced a total of 1 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity, which can replace 307,600 tons of standard coal.

In Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, China's first large-scale source-grid-load-storage technology R&D test base is accelerating. The test base has built seven energy storage technology verification platforms, including the first domestic solid-state lithium-ion battery energy storage power station and the first 3 MW sodium-ion battery demonstration power station.

In the next step, China will intensify efforts to develop new energy storage, improve energy system regulation capabilities, and promote energy digital transformation and energy system reform. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the increase in renewable energy power generation accounted for more than 50% of the increase in electricity consumption in the whole society, and the power generation from wind power and solar energy doubled.Editor/Ma Xue
