Recently, the owner of Vietnam Tra Vinh Dongcheng Phase I 80MW Offshore Wind Power Project issued a construction order and organized a commencement ceremony, and the project officially started. This project is the first offshore wind power project signed by China Harbour and China Power Construction Corporation in the international market.

Vietnam Tra Vinh Dongcheng Phase I 80MW Offshore Wind Power Project is implemented by an EPC joint venture formed by China Harbour and China Power Construction International Engineering Co., Ltd., with a construction period of 15 months. The owner is Dongcheng Phase I Wind Power Co., Ltd.

China leads the construction

The main work of the project is wind farm design, procurement and construction (EPC general contracting), including survey and design, procurement of 17 4.7MW golden wind turbines, wind turbine foundation, wind turbine hoisting, procurement and laying of submarine cables, etc. Among them, the international work of electric power construction is all entrusted to a tight consortium composed of Zhongnan Institute and the Eleventh Bureau of Hydropower, with Zhongnan Institute as the lead party.

The project actively responds to the comprehensive strategic cooperation framework agreement signed by China Harbour Group and PowerChina in 2021. The two sides will fully follow the principle of "market operation, mutual benefit and win-win results, complementary advantages and common development", deepen green power cooperation, jointly promote the "going out" of Chinese technology, standards and equipment, and promote the continuous deepening of the Belt and Road Initiative. After the project is completed, clean and reliable energy will be delivered to the local grid to make up for the growing power shortage. It is expected that the average annual power generation will reach 220GWh, which can meet the daily electricity demand of about 93,000 households. It can save 65,000 tons of standard coal consumption every year, which is equivalent to reducing about 172,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, making a certain contribution to the global "carbon neutrality" goal.Editor/XuNing
