On July 5, 2022, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Huanggang Road Tunnel in Jinan City was held on the north bank of the Yellow River. The Jinan Yellow River Huanggang Road Tunnel Project starts from Lanxiang Middle Road in the south, crosses the Jiguang Expressway, the Yellow River and the Queshan Reservoir sedimentation tank in the north, grounds at the Longhu Wetland Park, and sets up a toll plaza to connect with the G309 interchange under construction. The total length of the project is about 5.8 kilometers, of which the tunnel section is about 4.8 kilometers long and the shield section is 3.3 kilometers long.

The upper layer of the tunnel opened for traffic flows from south to north, and the lower layer faces south. The design speed is 60km/h. The outer diameter of the shield tunnel is 16.8 meters. It is the largest diameter shield tunnel passing through the Wanli Yellow River. The project is invested and constructed by Jinan Urban Construction Group. The Huanggang Road Tunnel is positioned as a dedicated passage for small passengers, taking into account the needs of fire rescue and public transportation.Editor/Ma Xue
