On July 5, 2022, the installation of the E17 pipe section of the Dalian Bay Subsea Tunnel constructed by CCCC First Navigation Bureau was successfully completed, and there is only one installation task left for the 18 pipe sections.

The E17 pipe section is a full curve pipe section. The axis of the immersed pipe is 148 meters long, 33.4 meters wide, 9.7 meters high, and weighs about 47,000 tons. The sinking depth is about 26 meters.

The sunk position of the pipe section is close to the south bank pond, and the construction environment is complex. The project team reasonably optimized the anchor system layout plan, and successively overcame the technical difficulties such as the difficulty in controlling the attitude of the pipe section and the frequent adjustment of the cable force during the sinking and laying process, ensuring the smooth installation of the E17 pipe section. .

The floating installation work was officially started at 6:00 in the morning, and the docking with the E16 pipe section was successfully completed at 20:08, which took about 14 hours.
