It is reported that the Meilan Airport Express Track Project is located in the Jiangdong New Area of Haikou, with a total investment of about 2 billion yuan. The project starts from Haiwen North Road under construction in the north and connects with Guilin Yangtong in the south, with a total length of about 5.367 kilometers and a red line width of 50 meters in the standard section. Among them, the main line viaduct has a total length of about 4.792 kilometers, the standard section viaduct has a net width of 25.5 meters, the lanes are set to two-way six-lane, and the design speed is 80 km/h. One interchange and three pairs of up and down ramps will be set up on the whole line of the project, mainly new elevated expressways, ground auxiliary roads, and interchanges. The construction contents include road engineering, traffic engineering, bridge engineering, drainage engineering, lighting engineering and landscape greening engineering.

It is reported that the transportation infrastructure in Jiangdong New Area is improving day by day. Important east-west trunk roads such as Jiangdong Avenue, Baiju Avenue, Yunmei Avenue and Dongzhaigang Avenue have been completed and opened to traffic, but the functions of connecting and diverting traffic from north to south are limited.
