SK nexilis held the groundbreaking ceremony of the copper foil production plant in E-Mobility Industrial Park, Starowa Wola, Poland, and officially put into construction. With a total investment of US$720 million, the project will build a production facility with a production capacity of 50,000 tons by the first half of 2024. This is the largest copper foil factory currently existing and planned to be built in the area. SK nexilis has acquired a 560,000 m2 land in the E-Mobility Industrial Park that can increase the total annual output to 150,000 tons, and plans to explore the possibility of long-term additional expansion based on the growth trend of the European market. Including the Stalova Wola plant, SK nexilis plans to build a production system with an annual output of 250,000 tons in Korea, Malaysia, Europe, and North America by 2025. In North America, SK nexilis also aims to start in 2025 and plans to build a copper foil factory with an annual output of 50,000 tons.
