On July 19, 2022, the first tank of concrete was poured on the raft base plate of the conventional island steam turbine generator plant of Tianwan Nuclear Power Unit 8, which is controlled by CNNC's China Nuclear Power Investment. The prelude to the construction of nuclear power unit 8 has been fully launched.

The conventional island started this time is designed by the Chinese Design Institute. Jiangsu Nuclear Power cooperates with 20 state-owned enterprises such as Shanghai Electric, HE Group, Dongfang Electric and 132 private enterprises to supply equipment. The localization rate of conventional island equipment is expected to reach 99.6%. , the domestic equipment design and manufacturing application efforts to further increase.
