At 10:00 on July 22, 2022, the first EMU train C296 Fuxing from Baoshan, Yunnan to Dali left Baoshan Station and was sent to Dali, marking the official opening of the Dali-Baoshan section of the Dali-Ruili railway, and the China-Myanmar international railway channel Important progress has been made in construction.

The Dabao section of the Dali-Rui Railway connects Dali City and Baoshan City in Yunnan Province, with a total length of 133 kilometers and a design speed of 140 kilometers per hour. It is a national I-level single-track electrified railway. There are 5 stations in Dali, Yangbi, Yongping County, Baoshan North and Baoshan on the whole line. It is the first railway in China to cross the Hengduan Mountains, and it is also one of the railways with the most complex topographic and geological conditions in China.

After the opening of the Dabao section, Dali to Baoshan can be reached in 1 hour and 9 minutes from the original 2.5 hours by car, and Kunming to Baoshan can be reached in 3 hours and 26 minutes at the fastest. In the future, after the opening of the entire D-Rui railway line, it is expected that it will only take about 6 hours from Kunming to Ruili, which will greatly facilitate the travel and freight transportation of people of all ethnic groups along the line. By then, the China-Myanmar International Railway Corridor will be fully completed in China, and the role of the Dabao Section in serving the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor will be further highlighted.Editor/Ma Xue
