On July 26, 2022, the groundbreaking ceremony of two major water conservancy projects in Tongliao City - the second phase of Yinchuo Ji Liaoning project and the Tongliao branch project of Inner Mongolia water supply was held in Mulitu Industrial Park, Horqin District.

The second phase of the project of attracting Zhuo to Liaoning Province

The project of diverting Chuo to Liaoning Province is one of the 172 major water conservancy projects to be implemented during the 13th Five-Year Plan period determined by the State Council, and it is also the water conservancy project with the largest investment since the establishment of the autonomous region.

The second-phase project of attracting Zhuo to Liaoning is a continuation of the project of attracting to Liaoning, which involves the urban areas and industrial parks of Xing'an League and 9 counties (cities, districts) of Tongliao City. The net water distribution volume is 436 million m³, with a total of 9 branch lines and 14 water receiving points. The total length of the water transmission line is about 401.75km, of which the total length of the Xing'an League section is 133.13km, and the total length of the Tongliao section is 268.62km. The static investment is 5.939 billion yuan. The annual water supply can be 287 million m³ for the 5 Qixian Industrial Parks in Tongliao City. Two pressurized pumping stations and four accident pools will be constructed along the Tongliao section of the second phase of Yinchuo Ji Liao, with a total designed lift of 317 meters and a total installed capacity of 10.1 MW.

Inner Mongolia Water Supply Tongliao Branch Project

Inner Mongolia Water Supply Tongliao Branch Project is an important cross-basin water transfer project in the 13th Five-Year Plan for National Water Conservancy Reform and Development.

The project draws water from Qinghe Reservoir in Liaoning Province, and plans to supply water to Horqin District, Kezuohou Banner, Kulun Banner and Naiman Banner of Tongliao City, with an annual water supply of 108.33 million m³. The total investment of the project approval is 5.384 billion yuan, and the total length of the project water transmission line is 409.24km, of which 96.98km is in Liaoning Province and 312.26km in Tongliao City. There are 4 pumping stations along the line, with a total designed lift of 475 meters and a total installed capacity of 33.80 MW. There are 3 accident regulating reservoirs, 977 various valve wells and 86 intersecting buildings.

The second-phase project of attracting Zhuo to Liaoning Province and the Tongliao branch line of Inner Mongolia water supply are major strategic deployments made by Tongliao City to solve the bottleneck of water shortage, improve water resources support capacity, ensure the safety of urban water supply, and promote sustainable urban development. After the implementation of the project, it will effectively alleviate the contradiction between supply and demand of water resources in Tongliao City, which is of great significance to promoting the high-quality economic and social development of Tongliao City and improving the water ecological environment.
