On the morning of July 26, 2022, the world's first (set) 300 MW non-supplementary combustion compressed air energy storage demonstration project invested by the main body of CEEC held a groundbreaking ceremony in Yingcheng. After the project is completed, it will achieve the world's largest single-unit power, the world's largest energy storage scale, and the world's largest conversion efficiency in the field of non-combustion-combustion compressed air energy storage.

The project is located in Yingcheng City, Hubei Province, an energy storage base in central China, with CEEC’s subsidiary Digital Technology Group as the main investment, with a total investment of 1.8 billion yuan. The construction period of the first phase of the project is 18 months. It is planned to build a 300 MW/1500 MWh compressed air generator set and the supporting construction of energy storage power generation production area, auxiliary production area and ancillary infrastructure.

As the leader of the entire industry chain, CEEC has developed a large-capacity non-supplementary high-pressure hot water heat storage medium-temperature adiabatic compression technology, which has formed a new type of large-scale compressed air energy storage that is self-controllable and takes into account efficiency and investment. Scheme", which can be called "optimizer for new energy access to power grid", "stabilizer for safe operation of power system" and "super charging treasure".

Its core technical index energy conversion efficiency is over 70%, and the core economic index unit cost is reduced to about 6,000 yuan/kW, creating a new route and new plan for large-capacity compressed air energy storage that is green, zero-carbon, efficient and economical.Editor/Ma Xue
