Recently, the 600,000-kilowatt photovoltaic energy storage supporting project of China Power Construction New Energy in Fukang City, Xinjiang held a groundbreaking ceremony at the construction site.

The project is implemented by a consortium formed by the 11th Bureau of Hydropower and the Central South Institute. The Eleventh Hydropower Bureau is the leader of the consortium, and undertakes the construction of the photovoltaic field and the procurement of related equipment. The Central South Institute undertakes the project design, the construction of the 220 kV booster station and the 600 MWh energy storage station, equipment procurement, and electromechanical installation and commissioning project.

It is reported that the Fukang 600,000-kilowatt solar-storage integration project is located in Fukang City, Changji Prefecture, Xinjiang. The project covers an area of about 20,280 mu, with a construction scale of 600,000 kilowatts and a 4-hour energy storage system, that is, 150,000 kilowatts/600,000 kilowatts. kWh energy storage system. At the same time, a 220 kV booster station will be built in the photovoltaic field.

The project aims to build a Fukang City Renewable Energy Demonstration Zone, which can provide an average of 1,083.78 million kWh of clean electricity per year. Compared with coal-fired power plants, it can save 332,000 tons of standard coal every year, equivalent to 469,000 tons of raw coal. Correspondingly, it can reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by about 6,414 tons, carbon monoxide emissions by about 88.72 tons, hydrocarbon emissions by about 36.23 tons, nitrogen oxide emissions by about 3643.72 tons, carbon dioxide emissions by about 789,900 tons, and ash emissions. The amount is about 102,300 tons.

After the project is completed, it can continuously improve the ability of large-scale development and utilization of renewable energy, optimize the energy industry structure of Fukang City, effectively protect the local ecological environment, help the rural revitalization of Fukang City, and promote local economic development.
