The China-Kyrgyzstan-Ukraine railway construction project to connect China with the Central Asian countries has been discussed for nearly 20 years. On August 2, 2022 local time, the first meeting of the "Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan-Turkey" dialogue format opened in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The leaders of the ministries and commissions responsible for foreign policy, economic and transportation matters from the three countries attended the meeting.
Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan-Turkey dialogue format is needed now more than ever, especially considering the rapid processes that are taking place in international relations and the global economy, acting Uzbek Foreign Minister Norov said.
"The established substantive dialogue, high level of trust and understanding between the leaders of the three parties has given a strong impetus to building a relationship based on the principles of mutual respect and support," Norov said. -Kars' transnational railway is of great significance to Ukraine."
Referring to the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, Norov said: "Currently we are actively conducting a feasibility study for the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project. The relevant documents are scheduled to be held in Samarkand on September 15th and 16th in Samarkand. Signed during the summit of the heads of state of the OECD."
Norov said that this railway corridor is connected to the Transcaucasus corridor and will build a unified transportation network to expand China's trade with Europe.
He also talked about Afghanistan in his speech. "An international conference on the theme 'Afghanistan: Security and Economic Development' was held in Tashkent on July 26, 2022, attended by a delegation of the Afghan Interim Government. It was agreed that the implementation of 'Tiermez-Mazarishari' The Afghani-Kabul-Peshawar' railway project is of strategic importance for rebuilding Afghanistan," he said.
In addition, Uzbekistan's acting foreign minister said that one of the driving forces for strengthening foreign economic ties is tourism, which is considered to be a reliable driving force to ensure the stable economic growth of the three countries.
In the end, Norov concluded: "It is important to formulate and implement tourism packages to make each other aware of the common historical heritage, especially our youth, which will help strengthen the cultural exchanges between the three countries."
