Jin Dangpeng is a senior engineer of shield machine research and development in Suzhou, specializing in the research and development of super-large diameter shield machines and tunnel boring machines. He has participated in major engineering projects such as Tianshan Shengli Tunnel, Beijing East Sixth Ring Engineering Tunnel, and Malaysia East Coast Railway Project.

In the late 1990s, with the acceleration of infrastructure construction in China, the demand for shield machines increased. At that time, it depended on foreign imports, which was expensive and subject to people everywhere. After overcoming difficulties, in April 2008, China's first shield machine with independent property rights was born. Today, it has accounted for nearly 90% of the global market. Jin Dangpeng led the team to develop a shield machine with an excavation diameter of 16.09 meters and the largest diameter in China, realizing 100% domestic components.
