"When you look at the AU Conference Center, you will find that it can be interpreted in many ways. It expresses African civilization, African culture and solidarity, as well as the prospect of African development and reform, and also interprets the firm partnership between China and Africa. ” said Van Tahun Hellermichael, project coordinator at AU Headquarters.

"The rainy season in Ethiopia is very long, resulting in a shortage of construction hours. The CSCEC project team has overcome this difficulty by increasing the input of all parties and hiring more workers. They completed the project construction with such high quality in such a short period of time. , it's really amazing!" said Enetu, the then industrial director of the AU headquarters.

After the project was completed and delivered, the Chinese technical assistance team continued to stay to provide technical support, help local training of technical personnel, ensure the normal operation of the conference center equipment, and ensure the smooth holding of various important meetings. So far, the African Union Conference Center project has trained more than 260 professional and technical workers for Ethiopia, creating employment for more than 2,000 people.

Today, the AU Conference Center holds meetings at the level of heads of state and government every year.
